I have always been enamored with the Nightmare before Christmas. Out of all the characters within the story, I really fell in love with Sally. I felt she resembled me in way she was a loner, silently pinning in the darkness for the one she loves to notice her. I love how she rose above that and truly became her own person, breaking the rules of Halloween, and even risking her life to save Santa against the terrifying Oogie Boogie. In the end, Jack finally realizes that he had been looking something that was missing, and it(she) had been right in front him all along. Oh, how that epiphany really brought the great story to an wonderful ending.
This art represents the satisfaction and content of finally being with the one you love. I wanted to include her "hobby" I guess you could say of sewing mixed with the color of her final outfit. The outfit she is currently wearing is spotted in the original concept for the film. I really loved that dress and wished they used it more. This would be printed on the shirt using vinyl with a "simulated" process.
Very cute and still punctually bizarre. I like that dress too, but it doesn't fit Sally as well as the patchy one. It's something about the hair, I think.
